The trip leaves early on Wednesday from Dover to Calais with the group riding around 320 miles - two thirds of which is by motorway and the rest on some great sweeping A roads through France arriving in Champagne around 5pm.
The country hotel we use in Champagne has garage parking and a great restaurant. Thursday takes us from Champagne onward through Besancon and on to Lausanne before we skirt Lake Geneva and cut through the Simplon Pass. Our next stop is on Lake Maggiore where we sample the first of our Pasta and Pizza! Friday takes us down through the northern mecca that is Milano and on then past Parma and Bologna before the coastal plain that
